Lullaby for Hamza: best practice

This project aimed to produce a video which could be used for training purposes, showing good anti-bias practices in different countries and explaining why practices can vary according to the contexts. The video shows four examples in Ghent/Belgium, Auby/France, Berlin/Germany and Birmingham/England. A journalist leads the spectators from one childcare provision to the other using the language of the country he is visiting.

Project on dissemination

This projct aimed at promoting and valorising the existing materials (books, videos, articles etc.) which were the results of actions or research by the DEET members. The product resulting from this work pack is a database supplying information concerning various publications on diversity in theory and practice. The updated database will be available on this website soon.

Participatory research: Making Sense of Good Practice

The first years in the life of children is the period in which the development of their identity should be encouraged and reinforced. It is also the time to make them aware of diversity in a positive sense. Childcare provisions are able to welcome children from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds. They can embrace diversity as a part of life.
This brochure paraphrases concrete principles and criteria for equity and respect for diversity in the daily life of childcare. The criteria are enriched with striking quotes from children, parents and professionals from all over Europe.

Making Sense of Good Practice can be downloaded on this website, under the 'News' heading.
