The "elele" project in Eleusina

Eleusina, is a multicultural industrial city situated about 23 km west of Athens. The Elele project is a three years intervention project, based on the use of Artistic Activities to promote respect for diversity and ameliorate the living conditions of Muslim Turkish speaking families.

More specifically the project includes:

1. A programme for children focused on artistic activities and aiming at cultivating in children a feeling of belongingness, confirming their identity and raising their self-esteem, while improving their Greek language skills and enabling them to participate more actively in school.
2. An empowerment/support programme for parents based also on artistic workshops and aiming at encouraging parents to take initiatives that would make them more visible to the community;
3. Sensitisation and training of teachers to anti-bias education through the experiential/participative method.
   
4. Continued contact and collaboration with local authorities and political networking
   
5. Ongoing research and documentation
   
6. Networking in a European level
